The Sticky Fingers Gallery

Having followed Tara on twitter for many months it felt time to revive the blog for 2011 with a comment on her fabulous gallery blog!  Body parts is the theme & in my line of work I spend a lot of time getting close to other people's bodies so it's a theme close to my heart.

As a lifecaster I have been asked to cast all sorts of body parts as mementoes & my favourite (& most challenging!) is.... the hand!

Baby hands & feet casting is my main line of work & hands, being so tiny & fragile, can be tricky to perfect & so are particularly rewarding when they come out as perfect 3D replica's.
I cast hundreds of super cute baby hands each year - every one is munchable & the techniques we use give amazing detail.


Children & adults hands are beautiful in a different way.  I like creating pairs of hands where there is a combination of old & young - the contrast in the skin is amazing.  Wedding hands are another favourite - a great keepsake & done when you're hands & nails are probably at their best!

Unusual commissions (like the bird feeder hands!) set challenges that keep everyone at Creative Casting on their toes!  I know you're thinking it - yes, some requests are 'below the waistline' but we would never disclose this information ;-)




The most sexy hands I can show you are the bronzed breast-hugging sort - the piece shown here is one of my favourites :-)

Baby Print jewellery from baby's inkless footprints

One of my favourite baby gifts from the website are these personalised silver baby print charms & pendants.
Created by taking baby's prints using our mess free inkless print kit & transferring the miniaturised prints onto fine silver. Below gives you an idea of the piece we can create for you from a set of baby footprints.


This fine silver dogtag pendant has been created as an alternative to silver fingerprint jewellery as the child was under 1 year old.  The Baby Prints range is great for this - fingerprints generally don't develop until at least 1 year & can still be very feint.
